Anti-squat suspensions reduce the deflection of the body. The rear suspension is modified so that the forces generated during acceleration are transmitted via the wishbones and the suspension linkage and not via the coilover suspension or suspension struts.

On PQ35 vehicles, the anti-squat value of the rear suspension can be defined by the slope of a line connecting the center of the wheel and the chassis mounting point of the trailing arm. Most vehicles are lowered with aftermarket suspension components. In the picture below, the vehicle is lowered, and the OEM control arm (and our 0 setup) in the MQB vehicle has a downward pointing anti-squat line (red line). This means that the vehicle has a negative anti-squat value. This leads to excessive suspension travel during acceleration and reduces the response behavior.

To correct this, we have developed an adjustable rear trailing arm. When the control arm is used in the 20 setup, the anti-squat value (green line) is corrected and the vehicle is reset to the factory settings.

 

 

If the wishbone is used in the 40 setup, the anti-squat value (blue line) increases. As a result, the suspension moves even less, which leads to a faster reaction of the vehicle from a standstill or when exiting a corner. Camber and toe are also less affected with less spring movement (better predictability of the vehicle).

Increasing the anti-squat value also increases the rear anti-lift value. This keeps the rear suspension low when braking, which improves the grip and predictability of the vehicle. This allows you to brake later and enter the bend at a higher speed and with more safety.

  • 3-position adjustable anti-squat and anti-lift settings (0, 20, 40)
  • The OEM control arm bends during normal operation. This bending becomes more pronounced when the vehicle is lowered or when camber and toe are adjusted. Our CNC-machined control arm with spherical bearings prevents this. The significantly increased stiffness also results in better handling when exiting corners and during acceleration.
  • High-quality metal ball joints instead of rubber bushings, ensuring that the alignment remains unchanged when changing lanes.
  • Equivalent to the OEM in terms of additional features.

 

Due to the adjustable design, the use of special adjustable coupling rods for the rear stabilizer bar is required. OEM and other aftermarket rear stabilizer links are not compatible.
