The Turbosmart StraightGate40 is the smallest butterfly-style external wastegate designed for tight engine compartments and installation scenarios. The StraightGate40 is a non-offset butterfly-style wastegate that delivers massive flow and near-linear control, providing unmatched boost control across the entire operating range.
The boost-based pneumatic StraightGate40 is based on the multi-award-winning eSG50, but is smaller and simplifies control through a conventional boost-based actuator. Thanks to the StraightGate’s self-compensating function, an enormous adjustment range of more than five times the base spring pressure can be achieved! The StraightGate50 comes pre-installed with 6-psi springs for the GenV actuator with single- and dual-port control; it is easy to use and offers excellent performance, flow rate, and numerous features!
The Turbosmart StraightGate40 was developed from the ground up and internally validated to achieve a new level of control and flow never before seen in wastegates. The zero-offset throttle valve is exposed to exhaust pressure evenly on both halves of the valve, causing it to rotate centrally and become a self-balancing valve against any actuation pressure. This self-balancing means that even at the highest drive pressures, less force is required and a wider adjustment range is possible, regardless of how the valve is actuated. The increased flow is achieved through the efficiency of a straight-through valve compared to a poppet valve, where the exhaust must be rotated 90 degrees through the valve.
