Discover the innovative 3.5-inch (90 mm) downpipe from HPerformance, specially designed for VAG 2.0 TFSI engines with OPF. It starts at the turbocharger outlet and replaces the stock pre-catalytic converter with a 200-cell catalytic converter. This version delivers a dramatic change and improvement in sound, as the OPF is eliminated.The increased pipe diameter reduces exhaust backpressure by up to 25% (depending on boost pressure, turbocharger, and other equipment), thereby significantly minimizing the engine’s tendency to knock. In our turbocharger development, we have found that an optimized 3.5-inch (90 mm) downpipe—compared to the original design—can deliver up to 20 hp and 25 Nm more power, as well as a reduction in exhaust backpressure of up to 0.15 bar.Any modification to catalytic converters (replacement, change in cells or size—different from the original) requires an adjustment to the engine control unit software. In combination with our OPF simulator box, this downpipe can also be used without tuning (software adjustment). In doing so, our OPF simulator box to ensure that no error messages appear.
