Drawing on its many years of experience in developing top-tier performance software, Unitronic has developed an intake system that maximizes the performance of the MK8 GTI with the 2.0 TSI EVO4 engine.
The result is a complete cold-air intake system that guarantees maximum performance and delivers increased power, higher air velocity, and improved throttle response, while simultaneously reducing intake air temperatures and turbo lag. Unitronic’s carbon air duct also contributes to the performance boost and improved airflow by utilizing both air intakes in the OEM grille.
In addition, Unitronic's cold-air intake system enhances the sound of your turbocharger and bypass valve.

Autoclave construction: The curing process takes place in an autoclave to eliminate resin pores and ensure a stable component. A UV- and heat-resistant clear coat is then applied to the carbon fiber to protect it from discoloration and give it a beautiful, smooth finish.
Proprietary 3-inch filter: The 3-inch dry cotton filter developed by Unitronic is designed to maximize airflow thanks to its rounded base, while keeping dust and debris away from the engine.
Oversized air intake for increased airflow: When combined with Unitronic's carbon fiber air duct, airflow capacity is increased.
Smooth airflow transition: The ferrule at the base of the air filter ensures a smooth and linear airflow transition between the elements.
Direct bolt-on installation using OEM mounting points: Utilizes all OEM mounting points through the use of Unitronics’ proprietary EPDM rubber mounting eyelets.
Enhanced Turbosound: Unitronic's cold-air intake systems feature an open-element design that makes the sound of your vehicle's turbocharger and diverter valve (DV) much more pronounced.
Dual air intakes: Use both air intakes in the OEM grille to benefit from increased airflow.
Water drainage system on the air filter box: Open slits on the underside of the air filter box allow water to drain out.
Installation
The Unitronic carbon intake system for the MK8 GTI with a 2.0 TSI EVO4 engine is designed for easy installation and comes with all necessary mounting hardware. Installation takes about an hour, including removal of the stock intake system and installation of your new intake system.
A difficulty level of 1 means that only minimal tools and experience are required, and anyone with basic knowledge of the vehicle can easily perform the installation.
