When used on the racetrack, the cornering forces bend the rubber in the wishbones. This changes the desired vehicle geometry. This can lead to slower track times and inefficient tire usage.

This is why we developed our control arms. Our racing wishbones use metal-to-metal uniball bearings, just like the Porsche RS series (GT2RS, GT3RS). Extensively tested on our Audi TTRS.

We use the same T45 tubes as in WRC vehicles. Our control arms offer increased stiffness and additional adjustment options. All factory parts are bolted to this unit, no further modifications are required.

Most racing vehicles are lowered compared to the standard equipment. Lowering the suspension has the undesirable effect that the chassis is lower than the ball joint. Excessive lowering causes the wishbone at the end of the wheel to point upwards. This means that you need more steering angle when cornering, the vehicle reacts sluggishly and feels less responsive.

This is where our control arms come into play, offering modified kinematics to compensate for the lower ride height. This version is only compatible with our front tubular subframes.

This means that you need more steering angle when cornering, the vehicle reacts sluggishly and feels less communicative. To correct this and optimize the kinematics of the front suspension, you should use the sleeves included in the kit. They change the kinematics of the suspension and the position of the pivot points of the components.

Product functions:

- Caster and camber adjustment (up to -4.5 degrees camber)
- No bending of the rubber, no loss of the set geometry during maintenance
- Compatible with OEM subframes and our tubular subframes
- Allows the wishbones to be removed without having to remove the subframe

Features:

- T45 tube (BS4T45 to BS4T100)
- Proven Motorsport M18 uniballs (Motorsport HEAVY DUTY series from RODOBAL [Italy], with reinforced PTFE sliding layer, pre-stressed fit, forged body made of heat-treated 42CrMo4 steel for maximum load capacity. The inner ring is made of hardened, ground and chrome-plated 100Cr6 carbon steel).
- Plug-and-play insert with xenon sensors
- Option to fit Audi 8V air ducts to the wishbones (air ducts not included)

What is included in the scope of delivery:

- two front wishbones (pair for one vehicle) with all mounting accessories
- spacers for repositioning the steering rack and the front stabilizer bar. Both have been moved upwards. See picture below.
- four rubber dust caps to protect the Uniball ball joints
- printed assembly instructions

Used in vehicles (type numbers in brackets):

2022 - Audi A3/S3/RS3 (8Y)
2013 - 2021 Audi A3/S3/RS3 (8V and 8VFL MQB)
2014 - 2021 Audi TT/TTS/TTRS (8S)
2012 - Volkswagen Golf/GTI/R (Mk7 MQB Mk8)
2012 - Seat Leon (5F MQB)
Other MQB-based vehicles

T45 is a unique seamless carbon steel tube that is used in many applications in various industries. It is stronger than Co-Mo 4130 tubing, which is also used in motorsport. It is commonly used in aerospace for equipment such as pilot seats and crew seats as it can withstand high G-forces without breaking or splintering. The material is carbon-manganese based and meets the full aerospace specifications of British Standards.

Properties

Tensile strength: 700 - 900 MPa,
0.2 % yield strength: at least 620 MPa
Hardness test: 201 min - 262 max HB or 210 min - 275 max HV.

Note:

Sale only for off-road, racetrack and racing applications. If the parts are used for any other purpose, it is the responsibility of the buyer to obtain the relevant documentation. Lowered wishbones can only be used in conjunction with our tubular subframe.

Note 2:

When using sleeves to increase the steering, it may not be possible to use downpipes larger than 3 inches. This depends on the vehicle and the downpipe design. We have tested many 3-inch downpipe designs and they work.

Additional information - Advantages of our lowered wishbone version.

One of the most important measures for improving the cornering behavior of a standard vehicle is lowering the centre of gravity by reducing the ground clearance. Unfortunately, this also has a negative effect on the original chassis geometry and kinematics. To prevent this, our combination of wishbones and subframe offers modified suspension mounting points. This corrects the steering angle and roll center, resulting in better handling and responsiveness of the vehicle.

In addition to correcting roll center height, it also helps with camber reinforcement (changing the camber angle within the suspension travel). In circuit racing, the priority is to optimize to reduce positive camber in corners for better grip, and that's exactly what our additional mounting provides.

We have developed our wishbone subframe set to solve this problem.

The front wishbone mount is lowered on the subframe mount. The lower mounting hole corresponds to the standard height, the upper mounting hole is suitable for our lowered wishbones. Please follow the assembly instructions for parts assembly.

Note:

The brake disk spacing is reduced by approx. 2 mm compared to OEM control arms. Please note this if you are using aftermarket brakes with reduced spacing.
