Product description:

The HPerformance X-Shaft connecting rods were specifically designed for use with OEM production pistons. Thanks to their optimized trapezoidal design, the original pistons can continue to be used without any geometric compromises—while significantly increasing the load-bearing capacity of the engine block.

With a material-tested hardness of 41 HRC (Rockwell), these connecting rods meet the most demanding requirements in high-performance applications. Every single connecting rod undergoes 100% individual inspection to ensure maximum dimensional accuracy and safety. The connecting rods are available with either high-strength ARP bolts or proven standard bolts—depending on the performance goal and application profile.

The combination of stock pistons and X-shaft connecting rods makes particular technical sense. Stock pistons are extremely robust by design and have proven themselves in practice even at high power levels. Power outputs of up to 800 hp on street fuels can be achieved without any issues. Depending on the setup, stock pistons can in some cases even handle 900 hp and torque levels approaching 950 Nm.

One major advantage of production pistons lies in OEM engineering:

  • Optimized piston ring set

  • Excellent wear resistance

  • Controlled oil consumption

  • Standard piston-to-wall clearance

  • Smooth engine operation, even when cold

Unlike many aftermarket pistons, these pistons retain all of their everyday performance characteristics.

The adjusted connecting rod length specifically reduces the compression ratio to 9.7:1 (instead of the standard 10.0:1). This results in clear advantages:

  • Reduced tendency to knock

  • Lower thermal load

  • More stable combustion behavior at high boost pressures

  • Greater safety with turbochargers for upgrades

  • Better suitability for 98-octane gasoline or regular gasoline

The HPerformance X-shaft connecting rods thus offer the best of both worlds: maximum mechanical stability in the lower end while retaining all the benefits of the standard piston design. Ideal for high-performance street vehicles that need to remain stable, efficient, and suitable for everyday use.
