The Turbosmart StraightGate50 is the world’s highest-flow 50-mm external wastegate! The StraightGate50 is a butterfly-style wastegate with no offset, delivering massive flow and near-linear control, as well as unparalleled boost control across the entire operating range.
The boost-based pneumatic StraightGate50 is based on the multi-award-winning eSG50 and simplifies control via a conventional boost-based actuator. The self-compensating feature of the StraightGate50 means that a vast adjustment range—more than five times the base spring pressure—can be achieved! The StraightGate50 comes pre-installed with 6-psi springs for the GenV actuator with single- and dual-port control, is easy to use, and offers outstanding performance, flow rate, and features!
The Turbosmart StraightGate50 was developed from the ground up and internally validated to achieve a new level of control and flow never before seen in wastegates. The zero-offset throttle valve is exposed to exhaust pressure evenly on both halves of the valve, causing it to rotate centrally and become a self-balancing valve relative to any actuation pressure. This self-balancing means that even at the highest boost pressures, less force is required and a wider tuning window is possible, regardless of how the valve is actuated. The increased flow is achieved through the efficiency of a straight-through valve compared to a poppet valve, where the exhaust gas must be rotated 90 degrees through the valve.
