Product description:

The HPerformance ethanol engine pack is designed to fit any customer demand. Either daily street driving, circuit race driving or quarter mile races, we advise you the best choice. This engine pack can handle all kind of alcohol based fuels as well as methanol content and is designed to handle any power level on the 2.5 TFSI. Engine packs need to be tailored to the car setup. Hybrid turbo builds like TC870XT or TC900XT or full frame setups should be tailored in terms of compression level and fuel to have the maximum best output. The Pistons of our engine packs are custom deisgned by HPerformance regarding tolerances (piston to wall clearance), components (bolts), materials and overall measures and coatings and produced by JE Piston using their best Ultra Series materials. By that we prevent negative aspects like rattle noise, blow by, or wearing that cause engine break downs very quickly. The rods are also designed by HPerformance and have some unique features. The material grade which is often hidden in the web is a major key fact regarding the strength of rods. Our rods have HRC (hardness after rockwell) level 41 and a special 26mm small end design that reduces piston pin bending by stress and handles more power on top. The supertech valve springs help to keep the valves operating even under high RPM and load levels. After various material and stress tests we found out, that the oem head bolts supplyed by AUDI deliever more clamping force than many of the aftermarket bolt Solutions and they dont need to be re-tightened, what bolts need to be. The engine pack Comes furthermore with all gaskets and sealants that are needed to reassemble your engine. That saves a lot of stress and ensures a straight forward buid.

Whats the ideal engine pack for my car?
The variation in the engine packs is depending on the future application of the engine / vehicle.

For power levels up to 850HP and long term application driving as well as circuit race driving the engine pack 1 is a great choice. The stock pistons offer good cooling characteristics, generate as little as possible noise that could be detected as "false knock" and have as little as possible oil consumption because of their material and tolerance.

For power levels up to 1000HP the the engine pack 2 is a good choice. The difference to engine pack 1 is in the JE Pistons, that are added to the kit. These pistons are custom designed HPerformance pistons, made by JE and have reduced compression level of 9,5:1. We advise them to use with classic fuels and WMI application. Due to their metallogy and tolerance they can handle more power over time than stock pistons.

When it comes to alcohol blend fuels, high methanol content and aggressive engine setups, we advise to go with our ethanol engine pack. That is designed for any power level a 2.5 TFSI can handle and introduces enormous amount of energy into the engine, due to the higher compression level. They also have the JE ultra series coating, which gives more safety for temperature and knock as well. We offer various levels of compression levels, that can be set up to fit any application.


Waht is special in HPerformance tailored engine packs?

HPerformance does not use standard JE tolerances. Over the years we have collected our own database while building and tuning the 2.5 TFSI engines and put all our experience into the design criterias of our ethanol engine pack pistons. To set up a well working and especially powerwise great performing engine, the focus is on the tolerances. Our pistons deliever the first and most important puzzle piece to your racing engine.

Besides the pistons we use stock stretch bolts that can transfer enormous clamping force which represents more than 1100NM in the 2.5 TFSI DAZ DNW and do not need to be re-tighten time over time (like bolts need to). The stock head gasket has prooven over time its great reliability. We only change those parts, that we see a benefit in. Our package is well tested and prooven over many years.

Which compression level is the best for my build?

We answer this question based on the fuel, you plan to run in your car:

  • 10:1 - Gasoline 98 Ron +
  • 10,5:1 - Gasoline 98 Ron + WMI or Gasoline 102 Ron
  • 11:1 - Alcohol blends, minimum E30
  • 11,5:1 - Straight alcohol
  • 12:1 - Special blend alcohols
