Also another weak point of the stock charge cooling system, the electrical blow off, is replaced by a reliable mechanical Tial or Turbosmart blow off, that can resist any pressure in the system. Product description: The HPerformance Sport Series intercooler for the RS3 8Y represents a massive upgrade over the stock intercooler. It offers a 124% larger charge air volume, 88% more inflow surface and a "bar and plate" core that is superior to any performance and with over 1100hp cooling capacity is rated. This means that the cooling performance of the HPerformance RS3 8Y intercooler exceeds that of the stock cooler many times over. The stock intercooler allows measurements on the test bench in fourth gear and heats up by an average of 20°C from the beginning to the end of the measurement run. Already in the second measurement, the performance drops by more than 10 HP as a result of an intake air temperature that quickly exceeds 45°C and leads to enrichment or component protection mode in the control unit. As a result, the mixture becomes extremely rich, fuel consumption increases immensely and performance also drops. Not so with our intercooler!On the stock vehicle, our intercooler leads to an increase in performance of up to 25HP and 60NM (reproducible), even after several measurement runs, the performance to be measured is constantly above 400HP and the temperature at the end of a run is still below that at the start. In order to better assess the enormous potential of the cooler, we compared it directly to the competition with a GARRETT 1000 intercooler core. Our Sport Series intercooler was able to exploit its potential. Even after 5 runs on the test bench, the output temperature (after acceleration) was still below the input temperature (before measurement). We were able to demonstrate this effect even more clearly on the road. The measurement results can be found in the pictures. The intercooler is suitable for all performance levels and can be used both on the stock vehicle and on a vehicle with significantly increased performance. Its total weight including the impact beam is only 16.9 kg. It also offers the option of being combined with our 80mm / 3.14 inch chargepipe / throttle valve unit. Efficiency can also be further improved with the optionally available air duct. No parts need to be cut to install the cooler, but plastic panels and corresponding foam pads do need to be unscrewed.
